JKA SI Winter Gasshuku 2025 - Dublin

JKA Shotokan Ireland held their traditional Winter Gasshuku on 8-9 November 2025, hosting Sensei Masao Kawasoe, 8th Dan JKA for the 35th year in a training camp held across the Hombu Dojo and University College Dublin venues.
Training focused on a series of basic drills designed to generate speed and power from solid foundations, with both juniors and seniors put through their paces.
A deep-dive on Bassai Sho on the Saturday was followed by a return to the principles of hip rotation and a relaxed upper body on Sunday. This concluded with a thorough breakdown of each of Gojushiho Sho, Jion, and Jitte on Sunday.
It was another excellent and well-attended training camp, with visitors from across the island of Ireland and overseas.
As always, it was great to get everyone together from regulars, guests and visitors and toast to our continued karate journeys at dinner !
